Klerksdorp
Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the Old Transvaal
and together with Kimberly Golf Club the 5th oldest Golf Club in
South Africa established in 1889.
The history of the Golf Club started with influential
men who were committed to the development of the golf
club and the game. Endless battles since 1889 were
fought against nature’s elements. Floods ,drought, and a
lack of water were the main concerns. Through all the
hardships over the years the club still managed to grow
from a 9 hole course with greens made of *"blougrond" to
a progressive challenging and well manicured 18 hole
golf course with a healthy membership.
Currently Klerksdorp Golf club offers a modern design
and course layout for the serious golfer. Fully
equipped clubhouse with bar, restaurant, conference and
function facilities are available under supervision of
caretakers Bona Steyn and her staff. This facility provides
secure parking and a very relaxed atmosphere where
golfers and their spouses can enjoy themselves.
A well
stocked Proshop is also available under the management
of JG Claasen.
